Kidsdance
During these classes, various dance styles are covered, with dancing to different music genres. Children discover their movement possibilities in a playful way and develop a good posture and sense of rhythm. These classes are for children from ages 4 to 7.
Modern Jazz
Modern Jazz, also known as contemporary jazz, is a fusion of modern dance and jazz dance. Each instructor brings their own style to the class. The dance incorporates elements like gravity, breath, dynamic contrasts, modern floor work, and the swing of jazz. The focus is on expansive movement with a smooth flow. During the warm-up, each muscle group is engaged with both strength and stretching exercises.
Streetdance / Hiphop
Street dance originated in the early 1980s in New York. It was particularly popular in poorer neighborhoods, which explains the name. Hiphop is a cultural movement that is most well-known as a music style and emerged in the 1970s in New York. The hiphop dance style is similar to street dance but is characterized by its cool body movements, bouncing, and a relaxed, almost nonchalant style of moving.
Breakdance
Breakdance emerged in the late 1970s in the underprivileged neighborhoods of New York. This dance style has incorporated movements from various sources, including African dance, Chinese martial arts and Capoeira. The different moves require significant flexibility, strength, fitness, and perseverance. Those who are truly dedicated and practice diligently can master the signature moves such as the six-step, snake, turtle, windmill and backspin.
Salsa
Salsa is a collective term for various types of Latin American music and dance. To maintain clarity and create recognition for outsiders, the name Salsa was adopted as a general term. Salsa is about exchanging energy, connecting, having fun, releasing, and letting go. Anything goes and nothing is required. With a smile on your face, you share a story, a fairy tale, or a joke, and completely immerse yourself in the music.
Dancehall
The dance style is named after Dancehall, a music genre that emerged in Jamaica in the late '70s. After an intense warm-up to authentic Reggae and Dancehall beats, we build a choreography in this class that strengthens all the muscles in your body.
Boys Only
The Boys Only class is designed for boys who prefer not to be in a class full of girls. In this class, Streetdance, Breakdance, Popping, Locking, and Michael Jackson moves are combined. If you want to become an all-around Hip Hop dancer, this class is for you!
Afrodance
In the Afrodance classes, you learn various moves to rhythmic Afro beats. Afrodance includes both large, powerful movements and occasionally slow, fluid motions that require a lot of concentration. In this workout, you dance to traditional African music mixed with modern sounds
Feminine Hiphop
Feminine Hiphop is perfect for ladies who want to infuse their dance with feminine charm. It’s a challenging and highly energetic class! In this style, you'll work on technique, presence, choreography, entertainment, collaboration, improvisation, strength, and flexibility, all while showcasing a sexy vibe. Heels Class
The Heels Class is the best dance class for your ‘femininity’! Besides working on your elegance, you'll also enjoy the intensity of technique, lines and the varied structure of the class set to the right music. The focus of this class is on warming up, strength, stretching, various steps on heels and of course choreography
Hiphop for Moms
This class is for moms of all ages. It features various Hip Hop styles, including both the tougher and more feminine forms of Hip Hop. The class is held on Wednesday mornings, so moms can drop the kids off at school and come enjoy dancing!
K-Pop
K-Pop, short for Korean Popular (Music), is also a dance style combining various genres including Hip Hop and Pop. It originated with the Hip Hop group Seo Taiji and Boys, who debuted on a Korean talent show broadcast nationwide, quickly gaining popularity among Korean youth. Shuffle Dance Class
The Shuffle originated in the late 1980s within the underground dance scene in Melbourne, Australia. Initially influenced by jazz, the movements evolved into a more modern style over time, reducing the prominence of the jazz influence. Today, the Shuffle is danced to house music and hardcore house from the 90s. In the early 90s, trance music also influenced the dance style. Shortly after, it shifted back to minimal house. Since 2007, the Shuffle has also been performed to hard trance, hardstyle, hard house, psytrance, breakbeat, tribal house and retro.
Ballet Class
Ballet is the basic technique of all other dance forms. The Ballet Class focuses on your posture, coordination, presentation, musicality and technique. This class starts with quiet exercises at the barre and then various exercises for big (and small) jumps and also turns in the middle of the dance studio. Each exercise follows a pattern that helps you build your strength, technique and stamina. Ballet Class is available from 4 years, from 6 years and from 8 years at MaxStudios.
